After reading
Photography really can show the depths of human emotions
Does death or sadness really open up a person to their environment or does it close them even further to the darkess corners of one's mind?
After reading, I wonder if I can discover my "artistic self"?
During reading
A lot of the artist that we looked at today: Walker, Smith, Soh, and now Goldin all have death as an element in some of their work
Goldin has some good friends that would let her photograph them in private, emotional moments
Compound entity of tight knit relationships=Goldin's artistic self

Text Notes

Nan Goldin text notes
Before reading
How is she showing an "artistic self" when there is two women in the bathroom sitting?
Is there anything private anymore?
How much controversy did her photos bring?
Goldin has a lot friends willing to let her photograph them in private, emotional moments.
